Hi! Here’s my avocado plant! I started it in water and then moved it to soil once it had a decent root system/set of leaves! I started it by poking the seed with 3 toothpicks to prop it up and placing it in water by a window! Super simple. Now it’s outside in semi-shade under my east facing front porch. 😊 *updated photo*

좋아요 1개Share more? I’m about to start a worm bin I was unaware of their aid with plants outside of making good soil
2개 좋아요I throw my avocado skins and pits in my worm bins. It takes several months but if I leave a pit near the top the worms will get it all cleaned off (of its not already) and it will split a bit and then send out a long shoot. I put that in soil with the shoot going up and then it roots into the soil. (The smaller one went in soil over the winter, the larger is from last summer.)

좋아요 1개Straight into soil like any other seed is the fastest way to get the plant going. Water starting looks cool, and you can see roots earlier, but the plant is shocked when moved to soil, and stagnates for a while.
3개 좋아요I second this. I had a healthy little plant from putting the pit suspended in water but within days of putting soil, she died
