Hello, so i’ve been interested in roses recently, and in june i took cutting from different roses i have, and i’ve placed them in water for them to grow roots. But idk what these things on the bottom are, and it sure doesn’t look like roots. Can roots still grow? bc those bumps look like they could be blocking root growth. thanks

    That’s a lotttt of bacterial slime on those cuttings, rinse them well while rubbing the slime off with your fingers and spray with hydrogen peroxide solution before returning to fresh water. Slime is a precursor to rot!

      Yes, do this immediately! I lost quite a few rose cuttings last year to rot 🫣

    Nah, those bumps (calluses) are a good sign — those are the places where the roots will grow out of
