my z z i also tried propagating has a brown mushy end
When I attempted my first propagation of ZZ plant, I just cut it off, let it dry for a day or two, and potted it in succulent soil. Then I just watered it like it was a regular plant. It eventually grew its own roots. Although, you might want to increase the amount of light it gets. With yours, you might just want to cut off the mushy part and try again.

Glad to help! And good luck!
1 j'aimeIt’s much easier to propagate by leaf I think. Just take a couple leaves and set them in a small cup together (I used a shot glass). Add water only slightly above the bottom tip. I usually set them on a window sill. Add water as necessary and wait for good roots or the little rhizomes to develop at the bottom. Then pot the leaves down into medium.
