Best way to propagate African violet leaves. I just dropped mine and broke a bunch of leaves off so sad.

    i believe i read that only the innermost leaves are able to be propagated — propagates like most things, i’ve just stuck them in water.

    You can propagate any leafs. While the inner leafs are easier to propagate you can successfully propagate any of the leafs. My most successful experience has been in water, put about an inch or two in the bottom of a container and stick the bottom of the stem in the water. Depending on the amount of light it receives you can start to see roots develop in as little as 3 weeks. Once you have roots you will see little clusters of tiny leaves develop on the stem. You can try to break them off and plant them(I never done this successfully as the tiny plants are incredibly delicate) or you can plant the whole leaf in some soil. You however can skip all of that and place the stem of the leaf and place it in a pot of soil. Eventually you see the tiny plants pushing their way out of the soil. If you’re impatient like me you’ll want to go the water route it for me has been quicker. Whatever you do I hope you have great success.
