One of my jade leaves dropped into the planter and little buds grew from it.

Hey there👋 a little late to this post, but I’ve been propagating jade stem cuttings from my 30-year old jade in soaked perlite for 2 weeks. I placed the perlite in a nursery pot, watered the perlite and let the water drain, then carefully added my stem cuttings. I check the cuttings every 3 days for root growth and add water once the perlite dries out. I’ve found this has grown roots for me a lot faster than water and soil propagation with less risk of rot. From my experience, jade stem cuttings propagate much easier and more successfully than jade leaves alone, so if you plan on propagating, cut at the stem between the nodes (between where the brown “notches” on the stem are, or between where the leaves are grown. Keep about 1-2 inches of the stem when cutting, and remove the lower leaves if necessary if it’s difficult to place the stem into perlite or soil. Let the stems callous for at least a day before placing them in any substrate. Here’s a photo of one of my jades after 2 weeks in the perlite. Hope this helps!
