Help needed. This is a repost as the first time got no response. I got these “corms” off of my Kentia palm. How do I propagate them and is it okay if they were the corms at the base of the stem?

I see a lot of people on YouTube use fluval stratum. You would need to cover it to get 100% humidity and use a grow light.

Thank you! Does it matter if these corms were kind of cracked open, wrapped around the base of the stem. I’m wondering if that means they’ve already been “used” and I actually need to dig down and get “in used” corms. I know nothing about corms.

You would need fresh ripened fruit/nut to propagate which takes a very long time to germinate (many months to even a year) depending on your conditions. These nuts fall from the branches and once they have dried out with their husks already exposed, unfortunately it’s too late and no longer viable. 🙁
