Hi plant friends! This succulent grew a little funky, I’m pretty sure I originally had it in a place that didn’t get enough direct sunlight. But I’m wondering if it’s a good idea to try propagating from it. Any advice on the best method?

I would say transfer it to another pot! But make it slightly bigger and add more water. Also you can add little wood sticks and tie some simple string on there from the plant so if it continues to grow you can have it grow straighter.

If propagation is your goal, these propagate really easily from intact leaves or stem cuttings. Just be sure to take the leaves off gently so they don’t break at the base or it won’t propagate. The healthier the leaf, the better chance it has at propagating. If you want, you could go as far as cutting the stem about half way up and taking the lower leaves off the top cutting to propagate as well. If you do, be sure to leave some healthy leaves attached to the main stem and let the wound seal before planting the top cutting. That being said, a larger pot might be less risky if you’re not used to propagating succulents. They can take a long time and rot easily if overwatered
