I have a jade cutting, should I keep the soil moist while it starts to root?

I personally have never propagated this particular plant, but from what I have researched about it in the past you should first allow the cutting to sit out in no substrate for a few days to enable a callus to form over the cut end. Once a callus formed, your best bet for good root growth is to propagate in water ☺️

Ok thanks! I let it callous then put in soil. We’ll see what happens!

I have done this plant. Air callusing for a day or two is probably best. But I’ve done it without. But you want to wait to water for a week or two so that you give it less opportunity to introduce bacteria. And you’ll want it in a much smaller pot. Succulents prefer to be more root bound since they store a lot of water in themselves. And personally, I prefer Terra cotta for my succulents. That’s been the most successful option for me 😊
