Second time my string of pearls has started wilting from the root :( caught it a little earlier this time and have approached life saving methods in a different way. Propping I’m water from scratch and the two viable strings with roots repotted into a smaller pot When I was emptying the pot I noticed the soil was quite damp still, i can’t tell though if it’s ill health is due to overwatering, lack of sunlight or too much…. Any ideas welcome Top of strings after drying out near the soil, was growing so happily and rapidly until it wasn’t

What sort? The soil seemed really clear

It needs full sun on top of the plant and very little water (and proper drainage).

Thank you I may try putting in the window or on a lower shelf so the sun hits the soil more

If you can only provide part sun then you have to let the soil get bone dry before watering again.

I have a smaller string of pearls than yours.when I first got it. It was in a 2 inch nursery pot. I found that the soil was staying wet for a couple days, which I recognize as a sign of a problem in succulents. Succulents should dry out in a day so their roots don’t rot. It’s usually a sign that something is wrong. Either the roots are rotten and they’re not sucking up water, the soil is not well draining enough (so it’s holding onto too much water), or the pot is too big (so there’s more dirt that the roots can’t reach). In my case, even with the teeny tiny pot, it was deeper than the roots on my starter plant. So I pulled it out and put it in a terra-cotta dish like usually goes under a pot, and it has been doing great. Pull your strings of pearls out and see how deep the roots are, make sure they are not in something that is deeper than their roots are. They need to be able to access all of the dirt so they can suck up all the water. Then you don’t water them until they look a little more dull and, not as firm. The roots of mine were 1/2”. They are now 1 - 1 1/2” but I’m keeping them in the saucer until the roots are at least 2.”
