First time propagating snake cuttings. When are they ready for soil? Is it the same general thought as other plant types, 2 inches with secondary roots?

I would wait until the vines are longer and fuller

Great job! Mine never survive! How did you do it?

They've been propping for about 4 months. I placed 3 cuttings in soil, but they died. There are 2 other cuts in my water cup with these that show 0 roots. So, I don't know what worked. The only intentional thing I did was to make a deep "v" cut, hoping it gave more growth spots. 🤷‍♀️

They look funnier grouped together in their water glass...more than one friend has joked about them. 😅

This is a photo I found online, but I didn’t put mine in soil until the roots looked like this (it took almost a year, but all of them that got to this point are thriving). Now they all have pups growing off them!

I left mine in water until they had several roots coming off the mother leaf and showed signs of a pup. I also added a pothos cutting to the water, and put them near a south facing window, and it only took 2-3 months for pups to start showing! They’ve now been in soil for 2-3 months, and are all thriving :) (Mother leaves are looking a bit rough due to recent lack of watering on my part… when I was following Planta’s guideance on watering, they were staying full and not shriveled throughout the process!)
