Just got a golden pothos and want to propagate. Cut two leaves just below the node last week and put them in some water. They’re already starting to look like they’re rotting :( any tips to better propagate?

Thats pretty much it. The leaves do need to be mature for it to be successful though. I always leave mine to callus over for an hour or so before putting into water.

One trick I’ve seen people do is to dip the bottom in melted candle wax to cover it and not allow water to get in. Just tried it recently!

I always let the cuttings harden off for a day before I put them in water. The leaves rotting makes me think maybe the cutting didn’t get to do that? I’ve had some cuttings from my golden in water for over a month now (they’re ready to pot now i’m just procrastinating) but sometimes it just takes a while! The good news is that there will be more cuttings to come, more chances to try again!

Have you changed the water? And what kind of water did you use? Mine don’t like tap water down here in Louisiana.
