Just got a golden pothos and want to propagate. Cut two leaves just below the node last week and put them in some water. They’re already starting to look like they’re rotting :( any tips to better propagate?

Thats pretty much it. The leaves do need to be mature for it to be successful though. I always leave mine to callus over for an hour or so before putting into water.

1 mi piaceI always let the cuttings harden off for a day before I put them in water. The leaves rotting makes me think maybe the cutting didn’t get to do that? I’ve had some cuttings from my golden in water for over a month now (they’re ready to pot now i’m just procrastinating) but sometimes it just takes a while! The good news is that there will be more cuttings to come, more chances to try again!
4 Mi piaceHave you changed the water? And what kind of water did you use? Mine don’t like tap water down here in Louisiana.
