I decided to propagate my beloved monstera plant, was looking for any advice for a somewhat beginner. Previous cuttings from the same plant are still doing well. Slothough I felt bad for the mother (who I chopped up) so I reported it and have left it in hopes it'll grow again, am I being silly repotting a cut up mother plant or is it possible to grow from this kinda trauma? I also have a cutting from a dumb cane ?? (I'm not too sure on the id there but) I'm hoping that'll grow too as the orginal plant didn't grow too healthily. Any advice is helpful! Thanks x

Not dumb. I harvest growth off of a couple large cuttings that I’ve kept for over a year. As long as it’s green, it has potential.

Mom should grow. It may take some time though.

Try to leave a leaf or two on the mother plant for photosynthesis. It will develop new leaves faster. Give good lighting and warmth to the mother plant and cuttings to encourage growth.

I should grow. Recently I repotted a monstera and found that the stems extended way down in the soil, so I chopped off the bottom part and planted😂 I had no idea if it would work or not but thot id try and see. I think I had four or five of them, but only one actually made it do to the others getting root rot. This is it today (my cat has attempted to snack on it a couple times🙄).
