Hi everyone! I've been propagating African violet leaves in water, and all of them rooted! Here's a picture, do you think it's appropriate to put them in soil now? Thanks! UPD: Growing in water for now, waiting for more robust roots - check out this cute lil pot I found:)

I would wait wait until they’re a little more established/longer&fuller. Great job!

Thank you!:) Do you have any experience putting fertilizer into the water to help with root development?

I use prop drops from Lowe’s and they seem to work very well I get more roots and they get pretty long fast.

For spider plants I know they say you need 2-3inched of roots for the best results. I’m not sure if it’s the same for African violet leaves

That makes sense, I think I'll wait until they have a more robust root system there

I have buried the stem of a leaf in soil 9 months ago and it has worked very well. The first pic is the now rather large leaf I used. I use an “African Violet” pot and add plain water or fertilized water with only about 1” of the upper pot actually in the water. I do not dump out the water once the dirt is saturated as some directions indicate.

My point is - I don’t wait until a leaf has roots to plant it in dirt.

I forgot to inside a major step in this process. So sorry! **put a plastic bag over the the leaf and top of pot for humidity and leave until you see a sprout. Make sure the soils stays damp. All - please add to this if I’m missing any more info. And again, my apologies.
