I have been propagating mint and I noticed these little shoots growing. They are attached to the main stem and when I transferred from water to soil, they got slightly buried underneath the soil. I didn’t think they would continue to grow but here they are!! I wanted to ask if these look like runners or new branches that will eventually produce leaves? They also have lil hairs (roots?) that the main stem does not. If they are runners, is it worthwhile to keep them or should I trim them off?

They look like runners to me, my seedlings are already doing the same. I keep them in my plant and trim as needed to get a nice big full plant.
