I’m not a big propagator because I’m an impatient person. But I did start these two prop boxes this week, and I’m excited to see what I get!

Is that all perlite? I’ve never seen anyone prop in just perlite. Let me know how it goes!
0 Me gustaI've started propping in just perlite too🙋♀️ . So far its going great. I haven't transferred anything to soil yet. That was the main reason I switched from water so I'm hoping they adjust better🤞

When transferring from water or perlite to soil, I use an extra chunky, airy mix as a transition medium. This is to avoid suffocating/overwhelming the delicate roots. Then when the plant gets established in the chunky mix, it can be transferred to something more water retentive.
2 Me gustaIt was actually adansonii cuttings I mostly had trouble with. During the spring or summer it would take them a good month to get over the shock and start growing. I planted some in the fall in a chunky mix, and they are now being repropped in perlite. So ya, I'm def hoping to have more success this way.
0 Me gustaI have for the first time recently, it worked great !!

Yep, it’s all perlite. I don’t use sphagnum moss because it a) can get moldy and b) sticks to the roots & can cause root rot if all of it isn’t removed before potting in substrate.
1 me gustaYeah I will never use sphagnum moss again lol
1 me gustaWhy is one of your leaf not inside the perlite?
