I’m pretty sure this is the right group for this, so here we go - i have a problem with impulsively taking the babies off my spider plant and throwing them in water when i see that they are a specific size lol. i have about 5 right now that are propagating in water. 2 or 3 of them are at the point where their roots are long enough to plant them in soil, but i don’t have enough pots to give them each their own. If i plant all 5 of them in, say, a 5-6 inch pot, will they get too cramped and have issues? or do spider plant enjoy being cramped? any feedback or ideas are greatly welcome :)

You’ll be fine for awhile but they do like to grow roots when possible

This will continue to grow roots until there’s no room left

And by no room I mean literally no space or soil.

Those are small enough that you could put them all in one & they’d be fine for a while. But you’ll end up right back in the same position quickly when they’re all producing little spider babies lol. You gotta get comfortable leaving them or throwing them away 😂

I have a spider plant and I’ve notice many little babies are growing but I’m too scare to propagate. If anything let them sit in water and wait for the roots to grow at least an inch, then find a spacious small/medium plastic pot with drainage holes and plant it 1 in apart from each other. At least when they mature they will have enough space to grow. That something I’ll do and I’m not expert but I think the plant will enjoy that.

I’ve planted multiple before and end up frustrated when I go to repot, because the roots get so tangled together!
