Does anybody know how to propagate a false Christmas cactus? I have a pretty big one and I’ve had it for almost three years and I want another one without paying for it! 😂😁

    I just did this for the first time. You just twist them off right at the node, at least three leaves, I mistakenly did two. Then you can prop in water or soil. I did water and the roots grew but it was a bit of a pain standing them up right. Once they had roots I put them in soil. The original cactus flourished over night as well. Grew tons of new leaves after the “haircut.”

    Do I just do 1 leaf and the others stick out or do all of them go in

      So you want to twist them off in a group of three. So the bottom where you propagate them will go into the water/ soil. If that’s what you are asking. So here’s one of my props. I put a cap in the bottom of a container to sort them when they were in water. As I said it was difficult keeping them standing so once they had roots I placed them in soil. Does this help?

      Im back I did one and I’ve had it in for two weeks I’m not sure how long it should take to have roots it’s till alive but the petals are getting a little soft and it’s not getting any roots

    You may need to zoom in but after I made the props she started growing new leaves everywhere

    Yours is big enough that you could just divide the roots and downsize the pots if you want. If you go for cuttings though, I've found these to be very easy about that. I propped one by sticking directly into dirt with no rooting hormone and it did fine. You could easily get 20+ cuttings with just a basic prune for shaping on that one

    I just did this! Well, six months ago, but it worked! I just put the props in peat moss that I kept damp, and they did the rest. It was surprisingly easy.
