My best friend passed away this week. Her husband said I could take home a cutting from her monstera. I need cutting & airplane travel advice please!

    My condolences. Hopefully, the cutting and future plant will only bring happy memories of your bff. You can take a cutting below a leaf node, where the base of the leaf meet the stem. The root nodes are below the leaf nodes. Clean any soil. Remove all pests. Wrap the cut end with a damp paper towel. Wrap clear plastic wrap around the damp paper towel to keep it moist. Wrap the plant in paper or cloth while traveling. It could suffocate and sweat if kept in a plastic bag. Travel with the cutting as a carry on item and not in checked baggage where the temperature can drop too low. 🪴🍀

    I’m sorry you lost your bestie. This is a nice way to remember her. I’ve never flown with plants, only driven, so I have no real advice. Just wanted to express my condolences. Post updates about your propagation. I really want to see it thrive, especially since it was from your bestie’s plant! ❤️
