This plant is from my mom's house and she wants to propagate it. I don't know if you can propagate this type though, and I wouldn't know how to go about it. Any tips on propagation?

eatyacarbssuper easy! do it right before the growing season for best results. just cut it from the top! you can root that in water and the main plant will grow new stems from the cut. you can also cut notches in the main stem to encourage fuller growth

Make sure you let your cutting callous over really well before putting it into your medium of choice. But as eatyacarbs said, very easy to prop! I have tried notching multiple times and have been unsuccessful, BUT it doesn’t harm my plant and it just heals over time 🤷🏼♀️so worth trying.

J-MoI just chopped mine for the first time this year! As previously said they are super easy to propagate! Just be brave and cut! It will ‘bleed’ sap after cutting so be prepared to dab that. It’s very sticky if it gets on a floor or table surface. You can see where I cut mine in the attached photo, and it has 2 new happy shoots! The top I cut off is doing very well also. Good luck!
