Should I propagate this variegated rubber plant? It’s under a grow light now and will be outside in the summer, but I’m assuming it’s leggy because it was in a lower light area half of winter? Or is this how they look? Never had one before except this baby. If I don’t hold it up or prop it up, the top falls down. 😳

There must be a issue with your roots. If the top of the plant is falling, it has nothing to do with light. The variegation in this plant is more like its colour, it won’t revert. Your plant is not leggy, that’s how it grows. I’d check roots. This plant can live in a low light area.

Ok I will check, it IS still in the small plastic nursery pot so maybe it needs a transplant. Very helpful, thank you so much for your reply!

Your plant could just be a little top heavy. Repotting might help, or you could cut off the top and prop. Or just leave it, and prop it up.

Mine got a bit floppy last month so I propped it up against itself and now it’s doing just fine and has a nice strong stem. So yours might just need a light support while it gets its sea-legs
