Gifted this vari Monstera - concerned that the top leaf has already given birth and the stem above cut close. Will she stay phantom or does she have hope?

It's possible to get good variegation from a low variegated node

No my bad, I mean’t will I get any new leaves given that the top leaf has already “had a baby”

Oohh gotcha, it should branch off again. It can take a bit on a mid cut

Thanks! Cut looks quite close to the “mother” leaf - I’ve had new leaves when I’ve cut my big monstera so I know where the newbie should appear - my first monstera cutting though!

It is close. But since ot popped a leaf, that means the meristem wasn't damage. So should be fine
