Hi fellow plant parents! I chopped the top off my beloved fiddle before moving and it looks like it might be ready to pot soon! Any tips and thoughts on leca v. soil are so welcome!

How long did it take to start rooting in water?

About 7 months, I had like 3 false starts and then moved it to a different window—east instead of west. 😅

I just made sure there were nodes about 6 leaves from the top, cut on a diagonal, and then removed the lower leaves

I personally move my propagations over to lecca until the roots are even more established and then I go to soil and keep the soil a bit more moist than normal and then slowly decrease the water

I’m having really good luck with the bases of my fiddles in LECA. They grew water roots very quickly. I tried to put top cuttings in LECA and water but had no luck with those, they just rotted.
