I didn't pay close enough attention in the past few days, but my prop water grew algae and it is all over the roots (I was going to pot up this weekend). I moved them to clean water, but how do I remove the algae before potting? Thanks!

    I’ve never had this much on mine before but I have just gently rinsed it off, I now add a little bit of hydrogen peroxide to my prop water and it stops the algae from happening

      How much Hydrogen Peroxide do you add? Do you think spraying the roots would help kill it off and wait until they are clean to pot it?

      I clean mine off under the kitchen faucet. Use a sprayer or let the water from the faucet beat it off. You can wipe off the rest with a wet paper towel. A little bit on the roots won’t hurt it when planted. 🪴🍀

      I bought one in a spray bottle so I just do a few pumps, a lot isn’t needed to help

    Try a soft paint brush! I've found that toothbrushes work on tougher plant roots, but with such delicate looking roots I would definently try a softer alternative. I agree with the hydrogen peroxide comments too, algae can be tough to get rid of! I wouldn't worry too much about it though, algae naturally grows in water & usually doesn't actually do damage to the plant itself
