I have five cuttings in sphagnum moss m. I bought them last November/December. The Hoya Finlaysonii is shown in the pictures. They have not declined. But, they have no new growth in 3 months. Root growth is slow. They cuttings are all close to grow lights. I have very little experience with sphagnum moss. So, I plan to remove the cuttings and place them in water until they grow enough roots to go into a chunky mix. Iā€™m more comfortable growing hoya cuttings in water. I kept the cuttings in sphagnum moss after they arrived since they looked healthy except for the lack of new growth.

    Theyā€™re pretty slow growers until they get a root system,

      It came with roots. But, they have barely grown in three months. So, I will try in water.

    I donā€™t know if this goes for all Hoyas, but warmth and humidity are often more important for promoting root growth vs light.

      The temperature is usually 70Ā°F. Humidity rarely drops below 50%. Iā€™m not sure if these variables are to low.

    I recently got a Hoya finlaysonii chicken farm and itā€™s pretty gnarly looking. I love the veining on yours! Itā€™s wild how stiff and sharp the leaves are. What about maybe trying to root in perlite? Iā€™m trying to root some Hoya in perlite for the first time right now to see how it goes. It looks like you have multiple cuttingsā€¦ maybe itā€™s time for an experiment. šŸ¤“

      I will try rooting one piece in perlite. I just hate dealing with perlite dust. šŸ˜ I do have two hoya cuttings I bought that came in perlite. They have done well.
