I am trying to propagate 2 different types of Wandering Jew. This is what the new roots look like. When should I plant them. Or should I leave till spring?

    i have some propagating in water myself!! i’ve noticed as long as i occasionally change the water out new growth will show in bright green shoots, i’d suggest when you start to see new leaves you should plant if that’s what you’d like to do :)

      I have never propagated so I have no idea what I am doing. So… it needs to grow new leaves before I plant? Or long roots.

      at at least 1.5–2 inches of roots, you should have no worries of success in planting :)

    You can put them in soil any time. They are one of the easiest to propagate. Just poke a hole in the soil with a pencil or chopstick deep enough to get the roots or leaf node in the soil. Water when the soil dries down. The hole will eventually fill in when you water. No need to keep the soil moist all the time. Continuously wet soil will make it rot. You can add rooting hormone. But, they do fine without it. Fertilize in the warmer growing season. 🪴🍀

      No problem. I was trying to say propagating in water or soil both works well. These guys are considered invasive in a few states. I would recommend soil propagation because the roots are so fine. Soil propagation avoids the stress of transferring from water. 🪴🍀

      I tried soil propagation before this with the wandering Jew I already had and it died. Idk what I did wrong.

      You probably cared too much for them. 😁 They act like weeds. I have three large pots that are entangled. The pots are in the upper left corner out of view. I don’t water or fertilize except in spring. They live off dew, rain and dead lizards. They are growing on the pool deck in full Texas sun. These are old. I just cover with wool shipping blankets when temperatures drop below freezing. 🥶

      Those are stunning!!! I plan on putting in hanging baskets once I get enough propagated
