Trying to propagate this monstera cutting. Are those white fuzz spots roots? Any tips, tricks, or advice on propagating monstera cuttings would be greatly appreciated.

(I got this tip from my sister) If a plant takes a long time to callus, put cinnamon on it (yes, cinnamon), it protects against infection, bacteria and pests. I think she said Aloe Vera gel works as well. (My sister said this, ⚠️NO IDEA IF IT WORKS⚠️). For cutting, I personally recommend cutting about 2-3 inches below an intersection where two stalks intersect, near the top of the plant, with the newest leaves.
1 mi piaceMonsteras can thrive in water, I would prop using moss and perlite!! Soil causes risk for root rot. I had two albos and one survived in moss and the other died in the soil.

0 Mi piaceit looks a but mushy. have u been changing the water regularly? monstera take awhile to groe roots but if u have any pothod add that they help w propagating
0 Mi piaceIt looks to me like you’ve got some root growth about to explode … those crusty looking white spots are the precursor to root growth.
0 Mi piaceI’ve had a couple of cuttings in water for 3-4! months and I’ve finally got roots on both of them. My suggestion is patience, watch for rot (cut back if it occurs) and changing the water regularly.
0 Mi piaceFor just stem I would recommend making a moss box rather than directly putting it in water- I’ve had issues with rot doing it that way
