Hi, I’m somewhat new to growing stuff from seed. I planted strawberry seed from store - bought strawberries, but they did not grow. Was there anything i needed to do beforehand. I know with apple seeds, you have to put them in a fridge for a while. Is that the same with other seeds from store bought fruit?

Yes, lots of seeds need a dormancy period. Especially stone fruits. Strawberries as far as I know, don't require a cold period. They can be finicky though, and usually need a little greenhouse to increase humidity. Also keep in mind some farmers spray products to inhibit growth, not always the problem, but it does not need to be disclosed to buyers.
