In June I got clippings from someone and all have rooted except for the tricolor pictum, paraiso verde, and philo splendid. The pictum was put in water and even started having new leaves, but still no roots so I decided to recut the stem up a node and try again. The paraiso verde was given to me in coco coir, and also has yet to root or put out any sign of new growth. The splendid rooted, I put into soil, and it has completely stopped growing. Any tips? I really really want these plants to root🥲

Hmm. Well for the tricolor, I personally have had trouble rooting aglaonema. They seem really stubborn. But usual philodendrons are fairly eager to root. Not quite as fast as pothos, but usually close behind. Have you tried something like a rooting hormone, keiki paste, or SuperThrive?

i have tried rooting powder for the aglaonema, but not the philo. I’ll def give that a try. I put the aglaonema back in water to see what it does because I put it in moss and it lost all the leaves except for one :(

I find it really difficult to root plants in coco coir. I have better luck using water, sphagnum moss, or perlite.
