Water and moss for tropical plants and potting soil for succulents. Every time I’ve tried perlite the babies rot :/

I’ve had great luck with fluval, and it’s must easier to get off the roots than moss is. Moss tends to almost melt into the roots and can be a pain to remove, and if it isn’t removed it can cause root rot from holding too much water to the roots

I’ll second the rooting powder and soil for succulents though!

for succs i just leave them to it — air propping — it’s generally what they’re made for! i have great success water propping jade, though

I've never had success in soil so I just use the water method
