Hi all, I wondered, so I googled to learn if adding a micro amount of liquid fertilizer to propagating water would be helpful and found conflicting responses. What are your thoughts? Thank you in advance 🪴

I just did this last night to a cebu pothos I’ve had propagating for about 7 months. He has had the beginning of a leaf forever & so many roots already, so I decided to give him a little snack. Also did this to a spider plant that has been propagating for about 2 weeks now, I guess we’ll see what happens! 🧪 ⚗️🔬🥼

1 gillaI literally just used the tiniest amount of my aero garden fertilizer, which is meant for that technically. So I’m not too worried tbh

I do add just a smidge of liquid tropical fertilizer to my prolongations when I change the water, and I’ve noticed that it can encourage root growth! I haven’t noticed any adverse effects thus far!

0 gillningarI haven’t tried it but I find just regular water works fine, but it might vary depending on the plant you’re trying to propagate.
0 gillningarJust found myself suddenly wondering after so many decades of using water alone. Thanks 🪴
1 gillaI add superthrive foilage pro - just 1/2ml to 33oz of water. Tiny amount. I use it on all my semi-hydro, alternating with plain water. New props or old plants I treat them all the same.
