Ok so here is my question. This monstera is not that big and I wasn’t ready to propagate yet so my idea was to just get a bigger pot and place the soil up higher to cover this little node. Will that be ok or is it best at this point to cut and propagate? Also can I just stick it in soil or should it be in water first and when more roots soil? Please give all the thoughts! This is my first monstera and I want him to do well!

I seen a lady place the node as is in a small container of water and rooted started sprouting , once the roots sprouted she mounted it to a moss pole

You can just leave it alone. That’s an aerial root. It will grow longer and more of them will appear. You don’t need to do anything with them. But, you can direct them into the same pot when the get longer like a drink straw. 😄 I would not bury the current plant deeper or increase the pot size to prevent root rot from excess soil holding too much water around the roots. You can wait until it’s longer and train on a moss pole, as suggested, or stick it into the soil. đŸȘŽđŸ€

What you're describing is air layering. It's basically to promote root growth so that when you fo finally trim her you already have sprouted new roots. You don't have to do anything with it yet if you don't want to. Some people just grow out the aerial roots and tuck them out of the way. If you want to chop and propagate you can do that too. Direct water is fine for root growth but make sure your cut callouses over first so you don't rot it. I recommend prop drops if you do that. :)

I agree with leaving the aerial root be, it will continue to grow. They use the aerials to help them climb, you can give it a place to climb or just when it grows long enough, tuck it back in to the pot.
