How long should I wait for my monstera to callous before putting in water

Depends on the thickness of the cutting. With thick, more mature stalks I usually wait 12-24 hrs to make sure it develops a nice thick seal. A good callous will look a bit brown and be dry to the touch.

I don’t know what the correct answer is. When I propagated mine, I think no waited and or two days and it did fine.

Question: is the wait time the same for dieffenbachia?

I would do the same with a dieffenbachia :)

A couple of hours unless it's very thick. But you can seal it with candle wax if you don't want to wait that's what I do with mine and I've had no stem rot problems x
