You can propagate in both water or a solid medium like perlite, soil and moss. - Cut it at 45 deg angles leaving at least 2 nodes per cutting. The stem between the nodes are hollow and contains the water the bamboo needs to survive. - It’s important to leave at least 2 inches of stem between the cut end and the closest node. - Leave only one side branch per node. You may want to cut the remaining branches in half if it is taking a long time (weeks) to grow roots. - Place the bottom ends in enough water/soil to cover the bottom node. New roots will grow near the cut end. - Place in bright indirect light. A seedling heater may will help if the room is cold. - Add diluted fertilizer once the roots form. - plant in soil when roots are at least 2 inches. 🍀🪴

You can also lay it horizontally on soil and lightly cover with a 1/2 inch of soil for a stalk that thin. Keep the soil moist but not soaking. Roots will grow along the stem Leaves will grow at each node. Note, that I’ve seen water added to the top cut end to provide water inside the stalk. It wouldn’t hurt.
