Hi, new here. OK so, I have a LOT of little pieces from various succulents. I read to just lay them in soil and mist them every couple of days, but I just don’t think anything is happening. Any suggestions?

Those came from doing that exact thing😁 it definitely works keep leaves in part sun part shade though they can burn with to much direct sunlight

Do I press them down in soil like a plant with existing roots? Or do I just lay them on top of the soil? I’m completely new to succulents 😭

U wanna make sure the base of the leaves are touching soil but no need to press down😁

You should start seeing roots within a week or two, the mother leaves will fall off and shrivel when the new baby plant is done using its nutrients to grow

Just lay them flat like in Bre’s pictures. Don’t push them into the soil. The tiny new plants grow from the cut end while pushing aerial roots into the soil. You don’t want the cut end buried. It will take weeks to see a new plant.

Would these grow well in one of those hanging terrarium looking globes? The glass ones with openings in the sides?

Keeping them somewhere relatively warm also helps with how quickly they start

I try to keep them as warm as I can, but these nights here are still dropping in the 50s

Then, keep them inside under a grow light for about 10 hours if it is too cold at night. A single ring grow light costs under $20. I have even used an LED desk lamp as a grow light. I just put it within 6 inches of the plant and put it on the whitest light setting.

I’m trying to prop succulents too, I’m not seeing anything but I think they just need time!!
