I took a cutting like this, let it callous over for a few hours and stuck it in some water. I’m sure you can do a bigger piece with more leaves, too. Ooor- you could unpot the whole plant a remove a rhizome that already has a stem(s) and roots. Then you’ll have another plant that’s already rooted.

How long does it take to root like this? I’ve been told it takes a really long time

It does take a month or two before you’re able to actually see some growth. But the cuttings I’ve taken have always started making their own rhizome from scratch. So I assuming that’s why it takes so long to root them. I almost threw out a Raven ZZ cutting after six weeks, but I’m sooo glad I didn’t because it started showing growth a week or so later!

Don’t bother! lol jk jk Nic’s suggestion to split them is a good one. If your plant is large enough and has multiple rhizomes in there, you can divide and pot a new one up

True story with the comment about not bothering. I have a cutting I propagated about a year ago and I am still waiting to see any new foliage growth. The little potato rhizome seems to be doing well and healthy, but it has not done anything at that’s visible above dirt level yet. 😭
