    Is the bin covered? Soil does take more time and is more susceptible to molding /making the cuttings rot as it is not as clean as perlite or moss. I’ve done it but it is not my favourite due to how unreliable it is.

      I actually had a bunch of in water for like two months and they never rooted and ended up rotting so I just tried this instead. Keep your fingers crossed for me 😭

    Do they all have nodes if they do what type of Pothos are they because a lot of different types of Pothos require different types of watering when starting out. If it’s a neon, that’s probably why it didn’t take in the water. I would uncover the bin at least once a day to allow air circulation into it or I would put holes in the top of the bin for the air circulation and if you have a way, I would put the lights to the side of the container so they shine directly into the container.

      I believe it’s a golden. It’s actually the first plant I ever got and I didn’t know anything about plants back then so I didn’t pay attention to the species. She was huge and had like 12 foot vines stretching everywhere and suddenly her leaves all fell off,(definitely my fault I repotted yesterday for the first time in 6 years) so I cut all of the vines and hopefully they grow and their mama plant begins to flourish again. They actually aren’t covered, but I think maybe I should cover and leave some holes for ventilation?

      Try leaving it uncovered but keep it warm

    Hard to say; pothos have surprised me a few times. Had one in moist moss that just slowly died, but forgot about another one in almost exactly the same scenario (it was in moist moss with another plant and I just focused on the other plant and forgot the pothos node existed) and a leaf was poking up out of the moss yesterday. Covering it actually isn't a bad idea; I've used plain plastic wrap more than once to get things going. Just make sure you open it regularly for air flow or it might mold

      That’s how it works for me every time. The ones I give the most time and attention die and the ones I forget about prosper 😂 I should cover it to retain moisture, that’s a good idea. Thank you!

    I’ve been trying different ways to see if my golden pothos nodes will grow roots. I haven’t tried this way yet. I’ve tried leca with too much water that rotted the node, and trying less water to keep humid but not drown it. Looking forward to see how this turns out for you!

      For me it’s always the nodes without leaves that rot, all of the ones I propagate with leaves root beautifully in just a clear jar of water. Thank you!

    I did this in damp sphagnum moss, instead of soil and had about a 50% success rating. The cuttings came from a Pearls and Jade Pothos that was on its last leg. This may have contributed to my low success rating.
