Hey, post a picture of “mama”. They are pretty hardy. I might can help you save it!
1 gillaIf she’s in succulent/cactus soil now, be sure to change that on planta so it can change the watering. I can’t tell how big that pot is, but these don’t grow crazy fast so their roots don’t need tons of room to grow. Too much dirt can also cause overwatering because the roots can’t reach all of the dirt to suck up all the moisture. It totally looks save-able! The blooms haven’t dried up and it still has some leaves so I bet it will recover fine!❤️ It will sprout new leaves and flower stems from all the “joints”.
1 gillaI just got this one in the mail a couple weeks ago. It’s happy in its little soil pod. I was low on time because it was in a big order of plants. So I have been sitting it in water every week or two, to absorb water, and then just sitting it back in a small ceramic pot. It seems happy in its 2” soil pod.😄
2 gillningarAs for propogating these, I would just put them on succulent soil in a shallow tray (terracotta saucers work really well) where they were growing before and mist the soil under them once a day. Providing moisture helps tell the plant it’s a safe time to put out roots. Otherwise they like to wait until there is moisture to make root growing worth it. You got this!❤️
1 gillaShould I let it callous? Or can I just pop it right into a tray I have?
1 gillaDid you break them off or were they just sitting in dirt? Post a picture of the underside, that should help!😊
0 gillningarI broke off the baby straight from mama, same with the plants!
1 gillaI would say let it callous over and then you can just put it in the pot with the mama like this. I just stuck it in the dirt so it could get the same water and sun as the big plant. It might look a little droopy for a few days after you stick it in the dirt, but as long as you see new leaf starts in a few weeks, it should be fine. If you don’t, just gently pull on it to verify it’s starting to have resistance so you know it’s growing roots.
1 gillaShe has been potted with mama! Wish her (and me) some luck 😅
1 gillaI wanted to reach back out to you and let you know I have learned these can come in red leafed varieties so that might not mean anything was wrong. It’s blooms didn’t look crispy either so it might have been just fine. How is mama doing?
0 gillningarMama is doing so much better! And baby has sprouted tons of roots and even started taking over her bunny sibling! I’ll get some pics tomorrow!
