Any advice for propagating these cuties? Was repotting now mama (CONGRATULATIONS MAMA đŠ) and saw a baby bunch and wanna be able to give her kiddos the best start to life. So ANY advice would be appreciated (as mama happens to be dying right now đ

If sheâs in succulent/cactus soil now, be sure to change that on planta so it can change the watering. I canât tell how big that pot is, but these donât grow crazy fast so their roots donât need tons of room to grow. Too much dirt can also cause overwatering because the roots canât reach all of the dirt to suck up all the moisture. It totally looks save-able! The blooms havenât dried up and it still has some leaves so I bet it will recover fine!â¤ď¸ It will sprout new leaves and flower stems from all the âjointsâ.
1 me gusta This one Iâve had since last year. Itâs a little rough for the wear because itâs been inside for months and dropped. But for reference, itâs a 6â pot. It would probably be too big if it wasnât terracotta and outside so the dirt dries up quicker.
This is also from last year and actually multiple plants in one pot. I believe it said 2.5 gal pot. Also would be too big if not outside.
I just got this one in the mail a couple weeks ago. Itâs happy in its little soil pod. I was low on time because it was in a big order of plants. So I have been sitting it in water every week or two, to absorb water, and then just sitting it back in a small ceramic pot. It seems happy in its 2â soil pod.đ
As for propogating these, I would just put them on succulent soil in a shallow tray (terracotta saucers work really well) where they were growing before and mist the soil under them once a day. Providing moisture helps tell the plant itâs a safe time to put out roots. Otherwise they like to wait until there is moisture to make root growing worth it. You got this!â¤ď¸

1 me gusta I would say let it callous over and then you can just put it in the pot with the mama like this. I just stuck it in the dirt so it could get the same water and sun as the big plant. It might look a little droopy for a few days after you stick it in the dirt, but as long as you see new leaf starts in a few weeks, it should be fine. If you donât, just gently pull on it to verify itâs starting to have resistance so you know itâs growing roots.

1 me gusta I wanted to reach back out to you and let you know I have learned these can come in red leafed varieties so that might not mean anything was wrong. Itâs blooms didnât look crispy either so it might have been just fine. How is mama doing?

Mama is doing so much better! And baby has sprouted tons of roots and even started taking over her bunny sibling! Iâll get some pics tomorrow!
