My inch plant’s root died at some point so I cut the stem into 3 pieces to try and propagate and save her 😠I watched a YouTube video but can someone tell me if these are cut correct? I have them in small glass vases or water.

You’ve done good! You still see nodes where roots will grow out of, and you can see in the last picture roots are already starting to grow

How long do I wait to plant into soil? I plan on putting all 3 into a pot for a thicker plant

Until you see secondary roots. The more the merrier. I attached a photo of what mine looked like when I potted mine. Some people prop right into soil, but I like to watch the roots grow

To the right are cuttings I’ve propped and potted from the original plant (on the left)

Plant Fatheryou can plant these (tradescantia, inch plants) right in soil. i find they grow better planted right away like this as there’s no need to transition them from water to soil later on

Professor SproutI recently learned that darker bottles or clear bottles wrapped in a paper towel or towel keep the roots hidden from the sun which is good for them
