This is my first time I’ve been able to see growth trying to propagate an Alocasia corm. Perlite has failed me in the past and I have never gotten this far before. They’re in a little nursery pot in a smaller cup with water and in a zip lock bag for extra humidity which I open periodically. Is there anything else I should be doing? I really want these lil guys to be successful so any advice I would really appreciate!
Warmth, that’s what I found I was doing wrong. I have mine on a seed heat pad and am now see some progress

0개 좋아요 I’m keeping mine in till they outgrow the space lol I have mine in cups the size of shot glasses in a plastic container that’s like 6 inch tall
좋아요 1개I recently grew 20 corms from various alocasia types in bottle caps with a glass jar on top for humidity and only lost one throughout the process! Your system will probably work just as well. I kept my corms in the windowsill behind my sink so I was constantly checking them. Your system will probably work just as well as long as you make sure they stay about half submerged in water but not floating, and if you see any mold, jusr give them a good rinse. They can still make it if you rinse the mold off

0개 좋아요Oh, and I also recommend keeping them enclosed for higher humidity until they outgrow the space. Make sure the leaves NEVER touch the side or the container though. The baby leaves always died when that happened to me
2개 좋아요I grow all my corms in fluval stratum. Hugeee success rate. I have done it for corms or the mother plant that lost all its leaves. I use a small self watering setup with high humidity.
