I got this cutting that got root rot... I had it dry out, and put it in dry soil, I think the pup died, but does anyone know if I can revive it?

Is that a Christmas cactus? If so then they’re pretty easy to grow. You could put it in a plastic box with damp sphagnum moss or even just pop it into some soil.

1 j'aimeThat looks fuzzy, not like a Christmas cactus smoothness. I would spray it down with 1 part peroxide 3 part water. Let it dry and then try again. The leaf looks plump still, and not mushy, so don't think the rot effected it.
3 J'aimeJust lay it out on some moist perlite

looks like it may be a type of kalanchoe. cut away anything mushy or questionable, then allow the injury to callous fully. i live in a humid climate and have found it effective to allow succulents to grow aerial roots before planting in some moist succulent soil in a 2” pot. at that point the propagations can be treated like you would a mature succulent, allow the soil to dry out fully before watering again. i find it helpful sometimes to look for signs of thirst in the leaves instead of checking the soil.
