Im not an expert at all but I have successfully propagated other plants. Normally you cut a healthy leaf at the stem with a sterilized scissor. Let the leaf callus for 24-48 hour and then only soak the callused area in a glass of clean water and change the water when it’s dirty (1-2weeks). And you will start to grow roots.
1 likeWait until a couple of days after the plant had been watered and the leaves are fully hydrated. Wiggle off a lower leaf. Lay it on top of dry cactus soil mix in a shallow container. No need to bury. Place the container in bright indirect light or under a grow light. Wait about 7 days to very lightly mist. Do not cover the container. High humidity is not needed. The leaf will callous at the open end and sprout roots. It could take a few weeks to see roots especially if the lighting is low. The new plant will use the nutrients in the leaf to sprout. No need to fuss with it.
