Hi all, I recently saw a post where someone found 7 separate plants in their store-bought Monstera which made me check mine. I have 3 plants in mine and I discovered 3 corms too! One with roots. I have placed the corms in pots with the rounded end pointing up, and left the top of the corm slightly exposed (see photo). Is this the best way to try and propagate these corms? Should they be covered in soil? Should I put them next to the window or use a grow light to help them along? I’m clueless. Any advice appreciated. 🆘 Thanks in advance.

    I’m pretty sure monsteras do not produce corms, but I’m perplexed as to what those may be. Very interested though if other plant people have ideas.

      You’re right! I had no clue what they were so asked AI with a photo and it said they were monstera corms!! 🤷🏼‍♀️😂 Now if they are corms, I’m very intrigued to see if they develop and more excitedly, what they are. Fingers crossed they do, it’ll be like a plant mystery box!

    Oh my goodness… what a treasure trove! Do you have any idea what the small plants are? Also, I have propped some corms before, but I started them in water, and they’re doing just great… lots and lots of roots. But it may depend on what type of plant they are. Good luck!

      All 3 of the plants are Monstera Deliciosa, they’re babies though so haven’t yet developed their fenestrations. I have no clue what the corms are if they are indeed corms. It’s anyone’s guess whether they’ll propagate or not. Fingers crossed though, will be exciting to see what they are!

      I hope your corms grow; it will be exciting to see what they actually are! Once they’ve poked through the soil, and get to the point where they are recognizable, send us a pic, and let us know what your babies are!
