Hello, I’m new here. I have one of my caladiums, elephant ears, who is taking off like a champion. I found out I have a flower, unsure of its purpose or what to do if there’s anything to do with it. Any tips and advice would be nice. It looks like my red flash also have to flowers and just wanna make sure I can do anything that’s needed for them.

Unless you plan on hand pollinating it then there’s not much you can do for it other than just monitor the condition of the plant since most of its energy will be going into keeping that flower alive for now

      How do you hand pollinate?

It’s mainly if you’re planning on breeding your plant but regardless I have never done it and the internet would probably be a better source for you

lovely! just enjoy it! i usually cut blooms with a spadix like this (peace lily, in my case) before they have a chance to drop pollen everywhere, but that’s personal preference. your plant won’t suffer if you leave it, but will go back to making leaves once the flower is gone — whether by nature or force lol

Awesome thank you, if I were to remove it, just how low would I make the cut?
