I have tried to propagate my string of turtles from leaves but they keep going brown and mushy. They are in slightly damp soil with high humidity. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? I removed all the brown mushy ones before but now the top left one is starting to do the same.

    i think you can just throw them on top of the soil with the rest of the plant. theyre succulants, so the high humidity is probably contributing to some of the problems, but I know people have propogated this way before.

      The rest on the plant died from the same problem these leaves are the ones that still looked OK so I tried to propagate them. The humidity is about 60 to 70%

    ooh youre probably overwatering then - let the soil dry out between waterings! the leaves will become soft and you will be able to slightly fold them in half when theyre thirsty.

    If the plant died from something, it might be why. Where it's a pest or something else. Generally I just clip a string off, remove the bottom 2 leaves, and push that into moss. Or you can do a butterfly cuts of each leaf. Cut in between each leaf, leaving them on the stems. And push them down into soil.
