hello im propagating a money tree and after 4 weeks of letting it sit in water this is all I have, is this roots or mold the second picture is some I just cut away because it looked moldy to me and I put the rest back in water, plant is still alive and healthy but not seeing any roots - any advice or suggestions?

    I don’t think this is going to work…it’s such a small piece and it looks like it’s been through the wringer. You could try a prop box instead of water but…i just don’t think this is a viable cutting 😔 sorry!

    So those white spots may actually be calluses, which are the precursor to roots! I would leave it in water (make sure the water level is at or above the topmost callus) and keep on waiting. You can also buy rooting hormone powder and dip the end of the stalk before you put it back in the water. Good luck!
