Hello everyone! My alocasia corms have been propagating for 2 months now. We've got some healthy roots coming in and 1 cute little leaf so far. The leaf is a little squished due to the top cup but I'm a little terrified to take the cup off. Any advice here? Thank you in advance! 🥰

I felt the same way when I first started sprouting corms. Once the first leaf has sprouted I have taken it out of the dome and it’s done quite well despite the lack of humidity. But, if you want to keep it covered longer you can put a clear plastic zip-lock bag over the top to keep the humidity in. That will give it more room to grow while still trapping in the humidity. It looks like it is doing great so far though! Well done!

Thank you so much Sarah! I'll give the ziplock bag a try 😊

So cool! What material is that your growing it in and what kind of cup is it?

It's just in some perlite and some cheap plastic cups I got at target 😊

Awesome! You can start hardening it off too. Leave the cup, or bag SarahJay suggested off for a few hours a day, then slowly increase the time off. I do something similar with acclimations, first no open vent, then I cracked it a bit, then more, then fully open. There is also a product called wilt stop, that adds an artificial waxy coating to plants to stop moisture release.
