i propagated this pothos directly into soil 1 week ago- the picture from the side view (right) was directly after potting and the one from the front of the house pot (left) was this morning. it has not started growing roots yet. i cut below the node and dipped it in rooting powder before planting it, and i’ve tried to keep the soil moist but not soggy. i also used a plastic bag over top to keep humidity. what should i do from here? i’m worried the leaves look a little droopy & im curious to if i should keep the plastic bag over top or not? i’m also open to any other tips so let me know any thoughts 😁😁

    From the looks of it, that’s actually a philodendron Brasil, not a golden pothos, though the confusion is understandable, considering for whatever reason they’re often colloquially called pothos even though they’re not. I wouldn’t worry about the leaves looking droopy. What I would suggest with any propagation though is only leaving one or two leaves. The plant looses water through the leaves, and as it no longer has roots to facilitate the uptake of water, the less leaves means less water lost for the plants. It also means less energy is being directed to maintaining the leaves, and can instead be directed on root creation. If you’re feeling concerned, go ahead and pop a bag over it again, just make sure it’s clear enough for light to get through and facilitate photosynthesis- that’s the only way for it to get enough energy to put roots out! Hope that helps!
