There are lots of beautiful roses where I work. How hard is it for a beginner gardener like me to grow some of them at home?

      That’s encouraging! Is growing from cuttings reasonably easy?

      Depending on the type of rose, absolutely yes it is actually quite easy to propagate them. Get yourself some raw honey as in honey that has not been hit with any flame and it still has the bacterium in it. Get yourself a potato carve a hole in the middle of a potato dunk, the clipping of rose in the honey stick it in the potato and plant it there you go. Honey is a natural root hormone and potatoes offer a multitude of good bacterium as it breaks down.

    I recommend reading up on rose care before starting. Buy local and plant varieties that do well in your area. Consult with local nurseries for tips. Your local Rose society should have sales and shows throughout the year especially right before the time to plant new rose bushes or prep roses for fall and winter. You can expand into propagating cuttings and buying online varieties when you have enough experience with them. They are very rewarding when they do well and heartbreaking when they don’t. 🪴🍀

      Thanks sunny. Great advice. I am going to educate myself on roses and the local nursery is a good idea for help. I’m going to try propagating the ones at work - see how I go! It won’t cost anything and it might work!
